Autumn

One of the nicest things about autumn – apart from all the bright colours in the foliage – is that lots of plants change into a decaying mode. One of my favourite metamorphoses is that of the teasel, which loses its purple florets in autumn and gets an even spikier appearance. Here, I emphasised its somewhat spooky look even more by using the sun as a backlight...
